The story of Ngee Ann Polytechnic begins in 1963, when it was founded as Ngee Ann College by The Ngee Ann Kongsi, a Teochew clan association with a vision to link the Chinese-speaking community to its cultural roots during Singapore’s colonial era. With just 116 students, the college offered courses in language, commerce and technology. Ngee Ann Polytechnic diploma, Ngee Ann Polytechnic degree, Ngee Ann Polytechnic certificate. A pivotal transformation occurred in 1968 when the college changed its name to Ngee Ann Technical College, marking its transition from a private to a public institution. The 19th president of The Ngee Ann Kongsi, Mr Teo Soo Chuan, symbolically handed over the title deeds to the Clementi campus land, securing the institution’s permanent home. In 1982, the institution adopted its current name, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, reflecting its expanded curriculum and full-fledged polytechnic status. Today, it stands as Singapore’s second oldest polytechnic and one of the nation’s leading institutions of higher learning.
